Privacy Policy
PDF42 is a PDF reader, editor, and annotator. We built it to respect your time — and your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
📄 Your PDF files are processed entirely on your device. We never upload, read, or store your documents on our servers.
- Usage analytics — anonymous events (e.g., features used, session length) to improve the app. No personal identifiers attached.
- Crash reports — device model, OS version, and stack trace. Used only to fix bugs.
- Purchase info — handled entirely by Google Play. We receive only your subscription status (active/expired), never payment details.
- Ad interactions — the free tier shows interstitial ads at natural transition points and optional rewarded ads. Google AdMob may collect standard ad-related identifiers per its own privacy policy.
- Your PDF files or their content
- Your name, email, or any account information
- Your location
- Your contacts or device files beyond what you explicitly open
PDF42 uses the following services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Play Billing — subscription management
- Google AdMob — rewarded ads (free tier only)
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request deletion of. To remove all local app data, simply uninstall PDF42 from your device.
PDF42 is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. If changes are material, we'll notify you via an in-app notice. The "Effective date" at the top always reflects the latest version.
